Dr Annahita Nezami 

Dr Annahita Nezami is an expert in mental health and personal development. She runs a private practice in Kingston Upon Thames, UK. Dr Annahita is writing two books, which she hopes to publish, one a children’s book on the Overview Effect and the other a book about her research on the therapeutic value of the overview effect. She is a speaker at conferences in the UK and Europe and has presented at TEDx London,  British Psychological Society UK, InScience Festival and Overview Symposium Netherlands,  on her ideas and research on the Overview Effect. She has also contributed to BBC radio 4 and The Pulse radio programmes. 

 

Dr Annahita received her doctorate in Counselling Psychology from City, University of London.  She spent five years studying the therapeutic value of the Overview Effect.  Her research aimed to explore how we can use awe-inducing experiences to promote growth and wellbeing. Annahita believes Earth gazing is a deeply meaningful experience that can elicit powerful emotions, motivate positive attitudinal and behavioural change and can help us reconsider societal values.  Dr Annahita specialises in the therapeutic value of the Overview Effect and personal development and wellbeing.

 

Annahita is devoted to improving mental health and creating novel solutions for the current mental health crises. Her aim is to harness aspects of the OE phenomenon to create evidence-based wellbeing and mental health solutions/packages, that not only address individual mental health problems but also  community and societal mental health issues. Annahita believes, in order to address the mental health crises we need to address mental health issues at the grass roots level and create mental health solutions that are accessible and creative.
