Evidence based approach
Our psychologically informed programs combine state of the art VR technology, music, meditation and haptic audio to give a fully immersive experience. We believe our programs can be utilised by independent practitioners, businesses, private hospitals, mental health organisations, schools, and charities.
We are passionate about creating evidence-based virtual reality programs that capture the essence of the Overview Effect. Our human-centered designed programs aim to recalibrate, reconnect, reinvigorate, and rejuvenate. In order to continuously improve our programs, we carry out in-house surveys and also partner up with educational institutions to conduct empirical research so that we can continuously improve.
Our values, vision and aims
Dr Annahita Nezami is the founder of VR-Overview-Effect. She is a chartered counselling psychologist providing consultation, assessment and therapy. Her areas of interest include space health, wellbeing, neuroscience, trauma, depression, performance, and altered states of consciousness. She has presented at various conferences, both nationally and internationally, and has talked about the Overview Effect and mental health on BBC Radio 4, at Central St Martin’s, UCL, and TEDx, and published papers and articles with Springer and other media outlets.
Several years ago Annahita interviewed NASA astronauts to investigate the therapeutic benefits of the Overview Effect, as part of her doctoral research. She realised that the Overview Effect potentially offers comparable results to psychedelic-assisted psychotherapy and nature-based experiences in promoting transcendence and eudaemonic well-being.
2016

Dr Nezami gives talks and presentations including a TEDx talk. Dr Nezami develops a conceptual and theoretical framework for VROE.
2019-2020
Charlie joins the team as co-founder and COO, and the Pilot VR-overview-effect program is developed and tested
2021
Launch of the early version of VROE for Leaders in the Netherlands. The video promotes a sustainable approach to leadership.

Charlie Perring

Charlie has an MBA, an MSc in Psychology and a background in new media and marketing. He has spent several years working in agencies and running his own companies. He has a special interest in using new media for improving psychological well-being and for educational purposes. Charlie is in charge of communications and all the technology side of things at VROE.
